The hotel was beautifully decorated with antique furnishings, giving it a charming and unique atmosphere. The breakfast options were delicious and there was a wide variety to choose from, making it a great way to start the day. the location of the hotel was perfect, as it was centrally located and within walking distance to many attractions and amenities.

That our room was a bit small for our family of four. It would have been more comfortable if the room had been a bit larger.

The location was great...we parked our car and never had to use it until we departed...the free bus service was an additional pleasure...we will return to the Anchorage in the future

The location was excellent, with slightly north of broad nearby, where we could eat. The hotel was so close to pineapple fountain. The furniture is antique. Public parking nearby was provided: )

    Nothing, all great.

The location was great, with the pineapple fountain and other tourist destinations just a few steps away. We also enjoyed the convenience of having Pearlz Oyster Bar only 600 feet from the hotel. Additionally, the free Wi-Fi at the venue was a nice perk.

A great place to relax and unwind. It was like a bed and breakfast but right in the heart of Charleston. Great warm cozy rooms. Loved the evening brandy nightcap along with the cheese and wine before supper.

    Slightly pricey.

The Anchorage Inn Charleston exceeded our expectations on all levels. the location was absolutely fantastic - right in the heart of the historic district in downtown Charleston. We were thrilled to find ourselves within walking distance of countless restaurants and the bustling market area. The hotel itself had a charming and vintage feel, with rooms adorned in period furniture and beautiful wood floors. The staff were friendly and attentive, ensuring our stay was comfortable and hassle-free. We were pleasantly surprised by the basic amenities provided, including the option of rooms with 1 double bed available. Although our room faced the small inside lobby, we didn't mind as it added to the overall ambiance. The breakfast offered each morning right by the water was the perfect way to start our day.

All was well and we couldn't have asked for more.

The staff was very nice but the Inn itself needs a face lift. It was extremely run down and just felt dirty and smelled musty. The owners should invest in new towels and bed linens.

The all female staff does a very good job with what they have. If they had some financial backing to spruce up the place, this Inn has great potential.

Would have preferred a king bed and glad we had a window.

The hotel is a great value for money, especially considering its location in the heart of downtown. You can easily explore the historic district and market area on foot, as they are within walking distance from the hotel. The staff is friendly and attentive, making sure your stay is comfortable. The rooms are well-appointed with nice bathrooms and dark, heavy furniture, giving them an elegant feel.

    No negative aspects found.

We were very pleased with the location since we could walk anyplace in the lower part of Charleston. And, we could reach enough good restaruants. We parked our car, and walked everywhere.

There is no coffee pot supplied witht the room, so we had to bring our own as we like coffee as soon as we are out of bed. The continential breakfast left something to be desired; and they were cleaning up before the appointed hour of ten.

Availability (it was Republican Primary); Flexibility of staff (he readily changed our accommodations to best suite our needs); Location (all we wanted to see was within walking distance) It still irks me to spend $170 for one night in a hotel, though. If a simple, decent room was available in the same location for much less I would have stayed there instead

This charming inn was perfect for my city trip, with a great location close to the best restaurants and attractions. I loved the antique furnishings and the wine hour where I met fellow guests. Plus, the afternoon tea was a delightful touch that made me feel pampered. the staff was friendly and always willing to help.

I had some minor issues with the room, which was on the small side and lacked some storage space. the carpet could have been cleaner.

Rustic feeling because building is historic and proximity to the Waterfront Park

The room we stayed in for the first 2 days was noisy right at the entrance near the front desk.

We loved being in the historic district of Charleston and at the waterfront. The Inn was private, comfortable and conducive to the Charleston period.

    We were entirely satisfied.
